Background

As communities came to grips with social distancing, learning how to meet by video conference, and caring for the sick during the Covid19 pandemic, the Institute’s faculty and staff put together a variety of programs as a service to our learners, as well as to the wider Bahá’í community. We are particularly trying to learn how we can assist high school youth (and their parents) with programs that will supplement their school’s offerings, helping them to thrive and to grow mentally and spiritually through the crisis.

Part 1

Faculty members Vahid Masrour and Niki Daniels introduce you to a number of free video conferencing tools, including Zoom, and Jitsi. We give an overview of what each tool can do, how to get started, how it works, and how it can be used to help your community function.

Part 2

The second webinar focuses on other issues communities face when they go online, such as scheduling meetings, and taking notes/minutes and working on documents together.

Part 3

The third webinar focuses on two things: using chat systems (that facilitate quick text conversations with friends), and holding public meetings that are streamed over the internet (Facebook + YouTube). Vahid and Niki are joined by Boyd Staszewski, WI’s Video Production Consultant.
