Independently investigate underlying assumptions in your field of study.
Analyze current complex and interrelated global discourse through critical systems thinking.
Apply consultation, reflection, and participatory social action through discourse and community-building.
Engage in meaningful conversation and accompaniment with the WI community, building lifelong collaborations.
The Social Change final project was particularly impactful. I facilitated story circles exploring how practicing love supports transformation. The certificate program continues to inform my coaching, facilitation, and community presence.
The most impactful element was the teaching style, which allowed for unique freedom of expression through art, essays, community engagement, and music. It gave me the tools to express new ideas peacefully and share the human experience more deeply with my community and the world.
I’m greatly enjoying the course – not only for its incredibly engaging content, and my wonderful classmates, but for the coherent and intentional pedagogy which is challenging me to think about coherence between content and process. So happy I was able to join this semester!

In 2020, the WI became an affiliate member of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU), an institution of higher education accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and The Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS).
Certain Wilmette Institute courses are now offered at GTU for credit towards an M.A. or Ph.D. Undergraduate and graduate students from the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) can also take WI courses as there is cross-enrollment between GTU and UCB. The Wilmette Institute can work with students to request approval from their institution of higher learning, but approval is not guaranteed.
