Update: WI Collaboration with United Theological Seminary
Dr. Robert H. Stockman, Executive Director of the Wilmette Institute
Robert Stockman

On Wednesday, February 19, Robert Stockman and Chitra Golestani, the Director and Associate Director of the Wilmette Institute, made a presentation about the Bahá’í Faith to the faculty of the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. The request for the presentation came from United’s Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean, Dr. Kyle Roberts, and was prompted by the curiosity of the faculty, following the signing of a renewed articulation agreement between the Seminary and the Institute in December.

Speaking via Zoom to the monthly faculty meeting, Drs. Stockman and Golestani gave a brief presentation about the history and teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, using both PowerPoint slides and personal experiences. The faculty asked many searching questions for the rest of the hour. Afterward, Dr. Roberts thanks us for “a wonderful and engaging presentation” and noted it would “spark continuing conversation among us in the days and months ahead.” He also expressed pleasure at continuing their relationship with the Wilmette Institute. As a result of the agreement, two Bahá’ís currently are studying at United and are able to take courses on the Bahá’í Faith toward their degrees.
