Course: Fostering a Bahá’í Identity in Families (2022)
Faculty Mentors: Julie Iraninejad and Chelsea Lee Smith

Thank you, Julie and Chelsea, for designing and delivering the course on Fostering a Bahá’í Identity in Families, and to the Wilmette Institute for providing it online. Thank you also to the fellow mothers and fathers in this course for sharing your experiences, challenges, and learnings.

This course has helped me to remember that each moment is an opportunity to develop spiritually, that our spiritual purpose and actions are the foundation of parenting, that I as a model for my children have the greatest influence, that loving kindness is more powerful than punishment, and that parenting is a journey of constantly learning to accompany these souls to transform and meet tests.

It is reassuring to know that we all walk this path together in our own family lives, and that we can go through different seasons of service, but we can each find our own ways of serving according to our own stages and opportunities.

While this course is not a Ruhi Institute course, it is encouraging to study with others, given that we are struggling and striving as a pioneer family, and to see the potential that such courses can have.
