Peggy Caton has a Ph.D. in Music (Ethnomusicology) from UCLA, and a Doctorate in Psychology from Ryokan College in Los Angeles. She is a board certified music therapist and a registered dance therapist. She has authored a variety of articles and books on topics in music, psychology, and intercultural communications, particularly focusing on her specialty in Persian music. She has also taught in universities on ethnomusicology and has spent many years as a licensed psychologist working with children and adults. She has incorporated music therapy, ethnomusicology, psychology and shamanic practices into her current music practice.
