Mike Burke had an extensive career in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and private occupational education sectors. Educated as a chemist, he started as a laboratory scientist and moved into corporate administration, eventually holding positions as vice-president, COO, and CEO in several companies. For the last decade of his career he taught medical students in a private occupational school. He has used consultative approaches to decision-making in all of his career, even before he became a Bahá’í. He is the author of a book about the business of nanotechnology and co-author of Moving Beyond Compromise: Why Stop There? which describes an approach to introducing Bahá’í principles of consultation to businesses. He currently writes a periodic blog about issues in decision-making.
