Subscribing to Course Forums

Many courses are very busy with a number of postings every day, consequently we are providing details about ways to manage the flood of messages.

  • Log in to your Classroom Page (see How to log in to your course for instructions)
  • Click on the down arrow at top right (beside your name/profile picture)
  • In the pop-up box, click on Preferences.
  • In the User Account box click Forum Preferences.
    • At the top, you’ll see that the default Email Digest type is: No digest (single email per forum post).
      This means you will receive one email for every post made in any of the learner forums.
      Forum emails are sent out 30 minutes after a post is made. The delay gives the writer time to edit, if desired.
  • To change your default Email digest setting, click the double arrow on the right side and choose from the other options, which are:
    • Complete (daily email with full posts): This will give you one email every day containing all posts. Most learners choose this option.
    • Subjects (daily email with subjects only): This will give you one email every day containing only the subjects or topics of the posts.
  • To save your choice, click Update profile at bottom of page.

NOTE: Whichever choice you make, you can still go to the forum in each unit to read postings and also to the “Course Lounge” forum.
