Sustainable Development and Prosperity of Humankind 2017

Yuetmee Ho, a Bahá’í from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, didn’t tell us much about herself, but her Personal Learning Assessment at the end of the course Sustainable Development and the Prosperity of Humankind displayed a sense of humor as well as dedication to using what she learned in the course in her Bahá’í life and professional social places. Here are some of her comments:
- As hoped, this course has provided me the opportunity to systematically shine the light of the Faith’s teachings on the concepts around sustainable development.
- While I have always instinctively known it, I am so pleased this course has demonstrated that, if humanity collectively were to put Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings into effect, we would in fact hit a homerun to—in the words of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, emphasis added—“end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.”
- I am grateful for the resources shared in the course materials as they will be very useful for my work in my various social spaces.
- Over and above the areas I am already working on with select corporations and my local communities, I would like to develop a presentation slidedeck using the approach outlined in this course for a Bahá’í audience and will be certainly on alert to gently seize an opportunity to share this important endeavor . . . fingers crossed!
