The Justice Conference Task Force invites you to the 2018 Justice Conference, to be held from Friday, March 30, to Monday, April 2, 2018, at the De Poort Conference Centre in The Netherlands. The proceedings will be in English.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Shining a Light of Illumination in Turbulent and Divided Times.” Presentations and workshops on the following topics are planned, keeping the overarching theme in mind:
- If humanity’s well-being is ultimately dependent on its unity, how can every opportunity be used to “shine a light that can illuminate” in turbulent and divided times? (The Universal House of Justice, Ridván 2017, par. 3)
- In what ways can our actions provide “assurance to the anxious” and “hope to the despairing,” “[a]s the fabric of present-day society heaves and cracks under the strain and stress of portentous events and calamities”? (The Universal House of Justice, Ridván 2017, par. 3; Shoghi Effendi, Citadel of Faith 43)
- How do we embody higher standards of concerted effort, mutual assistance, and harmonious development in our collective enterprises towards justice? What media and methods can we employ in the service of justice and community-building, at all levels of society?
- How can we effectively rise above “particularism and partisanship, above the vain disputes, the petty calculations, the transient passions that agitate the face, and engage the attention, of a changing world’? (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh 64)
