How did you conceive of the knowledge map?
This is the third time that I have read "The Seven Valleys". I am only now
feeling that I have a basic understanding of its themes. I wanted to share
some of the basic thoughts and feelings conveyed in the book. These will
assist the reader in grasping some of the vast amount of information
contained within "The Seven Valleys".
What is the knowledge map designed to represent?
This knowledge map is designed to represent the path that man may follow
on his journey to attain the company of God. As is pointed out by Iraj
Ayman on 2-17-99 in an e-mail to Roozbeh Taeed, Baha'u'llah states that
this is but one path that a person may follow. One may begin from any of
these stages and may travel through all stages in but a breath if God so
chooses. This map is therefore a simplified map of a spiritual journey.
What problems did you overcome in developing the knowledge map?
The main problem that I had to overcome was maintaining the simplicity of
the map. I found myself having to simplify the map more than I would like
to have. I feel that including too much information in the map would make
its comprehension difficult.
How do you plan to use the knowledge map (if applicable)?
I plan to use it as a teaching tool. After having developed the map, I
reviewed it with my husband and found that it had helped to clarify and
discover points that he had not yet uncovered. I will also present it in
our study group to determine if others feel that it is helpful in
understanding The Seven Valleys. If it is found to be useful, I will offer
it for deepening classes.
