Mark Lutness is a longtime student of science and religion. After earning a BA in English literature, he was drafted into the US Army, where he was trained as a Russian linguist and served in Sinop, Turkey, mostly electronic signal collection and analysis. Returning home, he married Kitty, the love of his life, following her into the Bahá’í Faith, and helping her raise their two children, Maya and David. He became an X-Ray Tech, then a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with parallel interests in philology, astronomy, astrophysics, and music. Besides teaching in all his professional disciplines, he has taught college-level biology and served as a substance abuse counselor.
