THEME: PARTICIPATING IN THE DISCOURSES OF SOCIETY
In its Ridvan Messages of 2008 and 2010, The Universal House of Justice has predicted that, as Baha’i Communities develop, they will be increasingly drawn into public discourses. They emphasize the necessary participation of individuals, communities, and institutions as well as Baha’i-inspired organizations in these discourses, which will draw us ever closer to working with society at large in addressing its many problems and needs.
Papers and artistic or dramatic presentations related to the theme or related to individual and social improvement at all levels are welcome. Send abstract or description of 80 to 120 words to email@example.com with title and 4 or 5 lines of bio. All sessions are 60 minutes in length including discussion. Please indicate whether your session will be primarily a lecture, a discussion, or a workshop. Multiple papers on a subject, panel discussions, or coordinated performances are also welcome. Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
Group/Panel Presentations or Session Organizers: Those desiring to organize a session of like papers/subjects for presentation and discussion should submit a description of the session along with individual abstracts of participating papers. Please indicate whether presentations submitted by others could be made a part of the general session. .
Desert Rose Baha’i Institute was founded by Hand of the Cause of God, William Sears, and his wife, Marguerite who is buried on the premises. Its mission is the spiritual and social education of people of all ages. It is dedicated to Hands of the Cause of God William Sears and Shu’allah Alí.

* Artistic presentations designed to inspire and cause reflection, or apply Bahá’í principles to human needs. __________________________________________

Presenters must register for the Conference before their presentation time will be scheduled. Minimum registration is for one full day plus meals (see Day Student below).
The $125 includes Registration Fee, materials, and 5 meals. Dorm lodging is $15 a night [upgrade(s) available] if postmarked by Friday, February 2, 2013. After that date an additional $25.00 is charged. A minimum deposit of $50 per person is required to hold a registration with the balance due upon arrival. Cancellation received on or before Saturday, February 9, 2013 will receive a refund less $25 handling fee. No refund after this date.
