Christopher White is a professor of Religion at Vassar College. He received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Harvard University, where he studied religion and culture in nineteenth- and twentieth-century America. He is particularly interested in religion and science, the modern history of Christianity, and meditation, prayer and spirituality in the world’s religions. He has published articles on these and other subjects in journals and edited books and has written one book, Unsettled Minds: Psychology and the American Search for Spiritual Assurance (California: University of California Press, 2009.
