Betty J. Fisher served as the General Editor of the Bahá’í Publishing Trust for twenty-five years and as member of the World Order Editorial Board for four decades, first as an associate editor, then as managing editor and editor-in-chief, where her responsibilities included editing, writing editorials and articles, and helping guide the magazine’s ever-changing content to reach Bahá’ís and friends of the Faith. She also served on the Editorial Board for the Bahá’í Encyclopedia Project from its inception in 1984.
Betty was a founding member of the Wilmette Institute in 1995 and served on its Board until 2009. She continues to volunteer in the Institute’s promotional activities and has served as faculty or discussant in several courses.
She holds a doctorate in medieval English literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
